An extraordinarily large turn out with farmers from over 550 commercial farms attending the 4th Armando Happening, the annual event promoted by De Matteis Agroalimentare at its factory in Flumeri (AV) together with industrial technology partners Syngenta and Coseme to meet all the farmers who have joined the Armando supply chain.

The event was an occasion for farmers and wheat distributors to renew their collaboration commitments, keep up relations forged and share the values with everyone involved. "Safeguarding and development of the agricultural sector we depend on is a duty first of all, as well as a strategic choice," affirms Marco De Matteis, Managing Director of the company. It plays an important role in Italian agriculture the company can back up with figures: in just 4 years the producers that have joined the Supply Chain Deal have become nearly one thousand.

Grano Armando pasta is produced with their wheat cultivated in 9 Italian regions.

Andrea Olivero, Deputy Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies spoke at the Armando Happening and emphasized the importance of teamwork and the innovative aspect of the wheat to pasta supply chain project:“The experience gained from the Armando Deal demonstrates that even in such a difficult economic situation as the one we’re going through now, by joining forces and working tog ether we can reach a common objective and implement a winning strategy for the whole food and agricultural sector.

The strength of the Grano Armando project lies in its ability to exalt the role of food producers and their work, giving life to a quality product that safeguards the environment and the economic and social community supporting it.
